Itinerary Timeline
Arrive in Guwahati and drive to Shillong (approximately 100 km). En route, make a stop at Umiam Lake for boating or a scenic view. Check into your hotel in Shillong.
Visit Lady Hydari Park, known for its Japanese-style gardens and flowers. Explore the Cathedral Church of Mary, a prominent landmark in Shillong. Visit Police Bazaar, a bustling market with various shops and restaurants. Optionally, visit the State Museum or Don Bosco Museum to learn about local culture and heritage.
Drive to Cherrapunji (approximately 50 km from Shillong). Visit Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Explore Mawsmai Cave, a limestone cave with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Visit Seven Sisters Falls, a beautiful waterfall cascading down seven tiers. Optional: Thangkharang Park and Arwah Caves.
Drive to Mawlynnong, known as Asia's cleanest village. Explore the village, its cleanliness, and the unique Living Root Bridge. Head to Dawki, a border town with a stunning view of the Umngot River and the Indo-Bangladesh border. Enjoy a boat ride on the Umngot River.
Drive back to Guwahati from Dawki. Depart from Guwahati Airport or railway station, concluding your adventure.
